Gabion Installation Components

Description
Gabion installation components are parts used for assembling, connecting, and fixing gabion structures. They ensure correct basket formation, geometric stability, and reliable connections throughout the system.
Applications
Installation components are used for assembling woven and welded gabions, sectional baskets, panel systems, as well as for manual or pneumatic installation on site.

Key Selection Parameters

Important factors include mesh type, wire diameter, connection method, coating type, mechanical properties of the components, compatibility with the main structure, and the type of tool used.

Technical Characteristics

  • C-rings / C-clips: Zn+Al coating or stainless steel
  • spirals: used mainly for welded gabions
  • steel connectors: wire diameter 4 mm
  • connector tensile strength: Rm ≥ 1770 MPa
  • lacing wire: used for connecting gabion panels, most commonly in woven gabions
  • spacers: for welded gabions, pre-manufactured to match specific basket dimensions

Project-Specific Selection

The type of installation components, coating, wire diameter, connection method, and geometry-stabilizing solutions are selected according to mesh type, gabion dimensions, and assembly technology. Parameters Table
Element type Basic parameters / variants
C-rings / C-clips Zn+Al coating or stainless steel; used as a quick connection method
Spirals used mainly for assembling welded gabions
Steel connectors 4 mm wire diameter; tensile strength Rm ≥ 1770 MPa
Lacing wire for connecting gabion faces, most commonly woven ones; may also be used for spacers
Spacers used to maintain basket geometry; for welded gabions they are pre-made to size

Technical Notes

  • Spirals are used primarily in welded systems.
  • Lacing wire is most commonly used in woven gabions for connecting faces and making spacers.
  • C-rings may also be used instead of lacing wire for joining elements.
  • Spacers for welded gabions should be matched to the exact basket dimensions.
